KAC ends on last place at Straubing

Montag, 18.August 2014 - 7:48 - EC-KAC played the game for third place at Gäubodenvolksfest-Cup against DEL team Straubing Tigers. The reds suffered a setback early when Patrick Harand got a game misconduct for a check from behind.

The team of head coach Martin Stloukal killed this and another penalty successfully, keeping a goalless draw after 20 minutes. KAC netminder Pekka Tuokkola conceded the first goal against after 27 minutes of his debut game as Laurent Meunier made the breakthrough. After the halfway point of the game Straubing’s Thomas Brandl was the next one who was sent for a shower. The Carinthians used their power play with Luke Pither scoring on a two man advantage. The 3.500 fans had to for some time for more goals but late in the game everything went quickly. Thomas Gödtel (56.), Blaine Down (57.) and Marcel Brandt (57.) scored three goals within two minutes to give the Tigers a 4:1 win.
