Mittwoch, 19.Februar 2014 - 7:23 - On Tuesday HC Bozen fell to French side HC Rouen, losing 4:3 after penalties.
HC Bozen was without Angelo Esposito in their first of a three-game tournament to celebrate the club’s 80th anniversary. The Foxes had a bad start against French side HC Rouen, conceding the first goal whilst being one man down. Soon after, the hosts were out of luck when Whitfield and Zisser only hit the post. They also pressed for the equalizer in the second but the guests scored again on G?nther Hell.html'>G G?nther Hell, who got the nod over Jaroslav Hübl. John Esposito pulled one back but Marc-Andrè Thinèl restored the two-goal lead with his second of the night. Hübl started between the pipes in the third and the South Tirolese also started their comeback. Mark Santorelli tied the game with a brace within two minutes and it looked like Bozen could decide it in regulation. Despite being under pressure, Rouen saved from defeat, taking the game into overtime. After a goalless extra session a shootout had to decide about the winner, where the French team held the upper hand. Bozen takes on KHL side Yugra Khanty in their next game on Thursday.
