Innsbruck tries to beat Villach

Sonntag, 17.November 2013 - 10:17 - On the road Villach's eagles have not collected too many points this season. On Sunday VSV travels to Innsbruck where the sharks are waiting with five losses en route.

HC TWK Innsbruck could not end their losing streak on Friday, suffering a tight 4:3 home defeat to Linz. Now the Tirolese have eight points deficit to Fehervar who ranks tenth. After their successful start into the season with winning four home games in a row, they got worse in front of their own crowd, earning only two points out of their last five games. “We have to stick to our system and work hard. Everything is possible until you fight”, knows Florian Pedevilla, who returned to the lineup after more than a month of injury. Andreas Hanschitz and Benedikt Schennach are doubtful while defender David Lindner is ruled out definitively.

EC VSV had a bye week after winning against Dornbirn to get a great start after the International break. The blue shirts lead the second half of the table, trying to get back to the top six in Innsbruck. They have won five of their ten road games with only a few having a tight end. Seven of these games ended with a three-goal margin at least. Captain Gerhard Unterluggauer returns to his old place of activity, knowing the aim: „Only a win counts. I don’t think it will be easy but we practiced hard and were the better team in the first season meeting”. It’s also a battle of the top forwards, when John Hughes and Derek Ryan meet HCI’s Donati twins.
