Mittwoch, 13.November 2013 - 8:28 - They tried it twice and had no success, on Wednesday HC Orli Znojmo takes its third shot against ruling champion KAC.

It looks like EC-KAC is the big winner of the International break as Stefan Geier, John Lammers and Paul Schellander have cured their injuries completely, returning to tomorrow’s lineup. Thomas Pöck (upper body) and Patrick Harand are still sidelined. The champions have gained at least one point out of their last five home games, winning even four. They beat tomorrow’s opponent in both season meeting, earning a win after trailing twice. “Znojmo is a talented team with good skaters. We have to keep it simple and work hard to find back to our game rhythm“, says head coach Christer Olsson. Rene Swette will start between the pipes.

The players of seventh placed HC Orli Znojmo had three days off last week, practicing hard the rest of the week. “We worked on our stamina, they were really good days. We have analyzed the season and noticed that we have major problems with active teams who are skating hard. We must adapt ourselves to this play because KAC does really well”, tells us assistant coach Milan Navratil. The Eagles wasted an early 2:0 lead in their last game at Messehalle, suffering a 4:2 defeat in the end. At that time the Czechs had another goalie tandem with Sasu Hovi taking over and becoming their first netminder. The Finn convinced fans and coaching staff, getting at least one point in ten of 13 games. “It’s a very important game for the standings as well. I expect my team to be aggressive, we have to use our chances”, adds Navratil. Peter Pucher and Martin Podesva are ruled out while Jan Müller still gets a break after taking the ice just once after his injury. In his stead Patrick Novak is in the lineup.
