Freitag, 01.November 2013 - 6:01 - On Friday HC Orli Znojmo travels to Vienna for the first season meeting with Zdenek Blatny facing his former team.

HC Orli Znojmo came back from a 0:1 deficit to win the home game against Ljubljana 4:2, returning to the upper part of the standings. “Sunday’s game against Salzburg took much strength, so we were not able to play our best against Olimpija. In the end only the two points matter though”, explains Jiri Reznar who trusted in goalie Filip Landsman for the second time this season. “We have always said that he will get his chances and on Tuesday he did really well”. The Czechs travel to Vienna on Friday, facing the Caps for the first time since last season’s quarterfinal elimination. This game will be special for Zdenek Blatny who wore a Caps jersey in the last campaign. After he got hurt in the season opener, Blatny returned to the ice for the six games: “Usually you get game shape in preseason, so now I started from the beginning but it was much better lately. It’s always exciting to play a team you have played the season before and hopefully we can get a win there. It will be really tough, I expect the Caps coming hard but it can go either way”. Martin Podesva and Jan Müller are out while Peter Pucher is doubtful.

After four consecutive home wins, UPC Vienna Capitals lost against Villach on Tuesday yet again. The coaching staff still analysed this game before today’s on ice practice but now they only focus on Friday’s home game against Znojmo who are their favourite opponent after 13 wins out of 15 meetings. “They can put pressure onto every opponent that’s a tough call. Games against them are always very fast-paced and on a technical high standard“, knows assistant coach Phil Horsky. Dustin Sylvester returns to the lineup while David Kickert and Phil Lakos are out. Both players won’t return before the International break.
