16 Teams vying for the Quarter-Finals

Teilen auf facebook

Dienstag, 07.November 2017 - 5:39 - The CHL Round of 16 playoff series will be decided on Tuesday night. All ties start with two goals or less between the teams.

The Champions Hockey League Round of 16 will be concluded on Tuesday, 7 November, after which eight teams will move to the Quarter-Finals to be played on 5/6 and 12 December 2017.

There’s excitement with every single matchup, as no team will start the night by more than two goals behind in the return game. Six matchups are separated by only one goal after the teams met for the first games last week. Additionally three surprise packages try to defend their leads: Austrian-side Red Bull Salzburg (2:1 against Växjö Lakers, SWE), German champions Red Bull Munich (3:2 against SC Bern, SUI) and Czechs Ocelá?i T?inec (2:1 against Malmö Redhawks, SWE).

The results in the Round of 16 first legs have proved how close the European club ice hockey elite are these days – as does the number of countries which are still left in the competition, as teams from seven countries line up for this season’s playoff hockey in the Champions Hockey League (Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Austria and, for the first time, Great Britain).
