16 Teams from 7 leagues continue battle to be Champions of Europe

Montag, 30.Oktober 2017 - 12:14 - CHL Playoffs open this week with Round of 16 first legs of home & away series taking place Tuesday.

Teams from Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and, for the first time, Great Britain, line up for playoff hockey as the Champions Hockey League returns for the Round of 16 on Tuesday 31 October.

Among those still in the competition are two Group Winners from Germany, Adler Mannheim and Red Bull Munich; Czech Champions and CHL debutants, Kometa Brno; defending CHL Champions, Frölunda Indians; and surprise package, Nottingham Panthers. Of the 16 teams remaining only three have ever gone further in the competition, while eight play at this stage for the first time.

The first legs in the aggregate-scoring series are played this week, while the return games take place on 7 November.

Each playoff matchup is part of the overall bracket all the way to the final:
-The winner of JYP Jyväskylä vs. Tappara Tampere plays the winner of Kometa Brno vs. EV Zug
-The winner of Adler Mannheim vs. Brynäs IF plays the winner of Malmö Redhawks vs. Ocelá?i T?inec
-The winner of Red Bull Salzburg vs. Växjö Lakers plays the winner of SC Bern vs. Red Bull Munich
-The winner of ZSC Lions Zurich vs. Nottingham Panthers plays the winner of Bílí Tyg?i Liberec vs. Frölunda Indians
