Tyrolean Derby in Bozen, difficult tasks for Znojmo and Ljubljana on the road

Freitag, 10.Oktober 2014 - 14:51 - Four games will be played on Friday in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga: Bozen hosts Innsbruck in the Tyrolean Derby. HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana (in Villach) and HC Orli Znojmo (in Graz) will play on the road. Plus: Doug Mason makes his debut as KAC-Headcoach against Vienna, that is the only unbeaten team on the road.

Champion HCB Südtirol hosts HC TWK Innsbruck "Die Haie" on Friday. The "Foxes" won so far all four Tyrolean Derbies in the EBEL. The Champions Hockey League ended for HCB on Tuesday with a home-win against HC Pardubice. From now on Alexander Egger and Co. can concentrate completely on the Championship. Also in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga Bozen was successful lately, beat both Carinthian Teams EC VSV and EC-KAC. But also Innsbrucks Sharks showed their teeth in the last games. The Austrians won the last four games against Salzburg, Graz, Ljubljana and Znojmo and want to continue their series in Bozen to.

Doug Mason makes his debut as KAC-Headcoach against Vienna
EC-KAC hosts the Vienna Capitals on Friday. Doug Mason makes his debut as Headcoach of the Red Jackets. Since Martin Stloukal left Klagenfurt, Austrians record champion took points from all three games (one win). On the other side the Vienna Capitals are the only team, that could win so far all (four) road-games this season.

EC-KAC misses David Schuller, Luke Pither and Mike Siklenka, while the Capitals are without Benoit Gratton, Hugh Jessiman and Patrick Peter.

Znojmo travels to Graz
The Moser Medical Graz99ers host HC Orli Znojmo this Friday. Both teams have shown good performances lately. The Strianys got points from their last five games (four wins), while the Czechs won the last three games against Bozen (4:2), Salzburg (5:4) and Linz (6:3)! Besides Peter Pucher and Company are more dangerous on the road so far, where the won already three from four games, than at home (just one win). For the 99ers Tyler Scofield, who played the last four years in Klagenfurt, could make his debut.

Martin Podesva, forward HC Orli Znojmo: "The last success increased our confidence. We believe in ourselves and in the team. We are playing a more offensive hockey, we try to be active and that´s the way we want to play in Graz, as well. We don´t get carried away but we want to get more wins."

Injury report:
Graz still misses Olivier Latendresse and Tomas Petruska. Willie Coetzee is a questionmark, the same applies for Znojmos Ondrej Fiala. Goalie Tomas Tomek could make his EBEL-debut for the Czechs after his injury.

Villach and Olimpija are fight on the end of the table
EC VSV, that lost the last five games, host HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana on Friday. Both teams have just two wins so far. The loser of the game will be on the bottom of the table after the ninth round. While the Austrians lost the last five games, the Slovenes showed ascending form lately. The green dragons won their first game of the season End of September against EC VSV 4:1 and last round against Fehervar AV19 with 3:1. But both wins Ljubljana reached at home, while they are the only team, that is without a point on the road.

Rok Leber, Forward HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana: "We're heading to Villach looking for a win. We've beaten EC VSV in Tivoli once and we can do that away as well. We know a hard game is awaiting us. But if we play like we did last weekend we've got a good shot at an important two points. With them we'd be right there in it with the teams that are currently placed middle of the table"

Injury report:
EC VSV still misses Cole Jarrett and Mark Santorelli. Dragon Miha Pesjak had started with easy skating, but isn't fit to play yet.
