Nine teams to play friendlies this weekend

Capitals face Stavanger Oilers in Bled
The UPC Vienna Capitals will play their first and only Pre-Season-game this Friday in Bled against Stavanger Oilers. Both teams prepare themselves for the Champions Hockey League. The Norwegian Champion has with Veideman and Soares two former Capitals-player, in their roster. The Oilers won already a test in Graz on Wednesday 2:0. After two weeks of hart practice also the Capitals are looking forward to their first game: „We practiced hart to find our system. Now we look forward to this game. I think the players are glad they can play now”, said Head Coach Pokel.

KAC tries to win tournament in Straubing
EC-KAC plays a tournament in Straubing this weekend. The Red Jackets face there on Friday Augsburg. On Sunday waits then Straubing or Medvescak Zagreb. Headcoach Martin Stloukal has all players available.

VSV with two test-games against Rosenheim
Just like last year EC VSV starts its season against Starbulls Rosenheim. Against the team from Germany the Eagles play their only test-games before the start of the Champions Hockey League in Briancon in one week. The first game is played on Friday on the road, on Sunday follows then the home-opener. Headcoach Hannu Järvenpää, who has all players available, knows: “Most important is, that the players get the game feeling back.”

Bulldogs host DEL-club Nürnberg
Dornbirn continues its Pre-Season on Friday at home against Nürnberg. The “Ice Tigers” have with David Printz a former Bulldog in their roster. 2013/14 the Germans finished the regular DEL-season third, but were eliminated then already in the Quarterfinals. „The whole team wants to show a solid performance and to win. Nürnberg plays in a strong league, but we don’t have to hide us. I expect an equal game”, said Forward Alex Feichtner. Niki Petrik is a question-mark.

Znojmo with the next test
Znojmo plays on Friday against HC Kladno already their fifth test-game. Defenseman Lubomir Stach: „We cannot get enough games. It makes more fun, then to practice all day.” The next opponent is now HC Kladno, a team that was relegated last season. „Kladno has a young team. We expect a fast and physical game, which we want to win. In the defense we still have to improve“, added the Czech. Coach Jiri Reznar still misses some players.

Fehervar with another two games in Zvolen
Fehervar AV19 continues its Pre-Season at the tournament in Zvolen. After today’s lost against Tychy the Hungarians face tomorrow ASC Brasov and then on Saturday the hosts.

99ers travel to Germany
Moser Medical Graz99ers could not score in their first test against Stavanger. The Styrians continue their Pre-Season now this weekend in Germany. On Saturday the 99ers face DEL-Champion ERC Ingolstadt and just one day later Landshut. „We practice together as a team for just a short time. The attitude is okay. We still have time to get better. Our aim is to be ready, when the season starts. Therefore we also want to use the test-games“, said Head Coach Todd Bjorkstrand.

Salzburg faces Stavanger and signed two players
After Graz and Vienna also Salzburg will face Stavanger Oilers on Saturday. For the Red Bulls it is the last test before the start of the CHL next week and the home-opener. „The game is a last test for us, to see how far we are. The Oilers are a good opponent and we will give all our best in front of our fans“, said Captain Matthias Trattnig. The Red Bulls miss Andreas Kristler und Konstantin Komarek. New in Salzburg are Czech defenseman Zdenek Kutlak and Canadian forward Kyle Beach.

Olimpija hosts Nottingham Panthers twice and found new goalie
HDD Telemach Olimpija Ljubljana has found with Andy Chiodo their number-1-goalie. The Canadian played from 2010 to 2013 already for EC-KAC in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga and won with the Red Jackets once also the title. Last season he started with Bakerfield (ECHL), but he switched soon to Finland, where he played for Tappara and Lekki. In the beginning of his career Chiodo also made eight NHL-games for Pittsburgh. Chiodo is still on a NHL-Trainingscamp, but he will join the dragons next week. On Sunday and Monday the Slovenians also play their first test against Nottingham Panthers. Chiodo will still miss these games. „We practiced hart and tried to establish our system during the last weeks. Now all the players just look forward to the first games and want to show, what they can”, knows Headcoach Fabian Dahlem, who will give both goalies, Ales Sila and Tomaz Trelc, some ice-time.

Bozen signed US-defenseman
HCB Südtirol signed defenseman John Lee. The 25-years old US-American played the last two seasons for San Antonio Rampage in the AHL, where he could score five goals and 15 Assists from 108 games. Now he switches for the first time to Europa. The Italians also extended the contracts with the home-players Alexander Egger, Hannes Oberdörfer, Anton Bernard, Markus Gander und Marco Insam.
