In addition the Slovenes extended the contracts with Igor Cvetek & Matej Hocevar. Bozen signed forward Rick Schofield, who comes also for the first time to Europe.

Currently no day passes without a transfer-message from Bozen. Also today HCB announced with Rick Schofield a new player. For the Canadian Bozen is the first station in Europe. From 2007 to 2011 the forward played with the Lake Superior State Univ. in the NCAA, where he was 2009/10 and 2010/11 captain and top scorer of his team. 2010/11 Schofield made 17 goals and 18 assists in 39 games for his club. That might not look that much in the first moment, but his team played a complete defensively oriented system. Schofield led all scorers Statistics of his team. This made also the NHL scouts attention to him. Anaheim gave Schofield, who was never drafted, a 1-year entry-contract. The Ducks send him for further observation to their AHL farm team Syracuse Chrunch, for which he made already eleven games 2010/11, scoring three goals and four assists.

For 2011/12 season the 26-year-old Canadian fought for a place in the 4th line of the Ducks, but he stayed the whole season in Syracuse, where he scored eight goals and nine assists in 77 games. Last year Schofield moved to the Rochester Americans. There he played as a defensive winger in the 3rd line and was able to score 7 goals and 16 assists in 61 games. HCB-Head Coach Tom Pokel knows: "Rick played in the AHL as a winger and as a center. Last season he had more defensive work to do. But he is a creative offensive player, who is very strong and smart, especially in 1:1 situations. Now he looks for a new challenge in Europe and comes highly motivated to Bozen to show his skills!”
