Donnerstag, 12.Oktober 2017 - 5:49 - EC VSV welcomes HC Orli Znojmo in the Eagles-clash on Thursday.

With the eagles-clash - EC VSV vs. HC Orli Znojmo - starts the eleventh round in Erste Bank Eishockey League on Thursday. Both teams have an eagle in their logo. After round 11 both clubs will have played all opponents once. EC VSV makes their fourth game within seven days on Thursday against HC Orli Znojmo. After two wins this weekend the Carinthians lost on Tuesday at Zagreb 2:5. The Czechs on the other side did not play on Tuesday and won their last match on Sunday at home against the Moser Medical Graz99ers 3:0.

HC Orli Znojmo won the last three Eagles-clashes. Four wins in a row the „Red Eagles“ could not celebrate so far in the Erste Bank Eishockey League against Villach. The Carinthians on the other side managed already to win four games in a row against the Czechs from January 17th 2016 until November 25th 2016. EC VSV did not get three points at home since over one month! The Czechs lost lately twice their first game of the weekend and took then full revenge on Sunday.

Defenseman Pavel Skrbek has been released this week by HC Orli Znojmo after reaching a mutual agreement.

Quotes: Greg Holst, Headcoach EC VSV: „It’ll be tough, Znojmo didn’t play on Tuesday. They’ll be fresh, while it’ll be our fourth game in 7 days. We’ll have to find a way. We’ll have to get back to 4 lines and have energy to win a point or two at home.“
David Bartos, Forward HC Orli Znojmo: „Our team has great potential and power. After defeats we always bounce back quickly. Now after our home-win over Graz we can go to Villach with a win in the back and that gives us an extra push!”

missing players: Thomas Winkler, Ben Walter, Adis Alagic (all VSV) and Adam Raska, Dominik Tejnor, Tomas Halasz (all ZNO)
