Late run brings Salzburg a victory at Vienna

Sonntag, 29.Oktober 2017 - 5:51 - On Saturday EC Red Bull Salzburg won at Leader EV Vienna Capitals thanks two late goals 2:1 and celebrated their fourth win in a row. For the Champion on the other side it was the first home-defeat since January 20th 2017 or 17 games.

The fans at Vienna had to wait 27 minutes for the first goal. Then it was Riley Holzapfel, who finished a diagonal-pass from Jerry Pollastrone from the slot – 1:0. More goals were not allowed by the goalies in the first 40 minutes. Once the post saved the Vienna Capitals, when Julien Brouillette of EC Red Bull Salzburg took a shot in period 1 (14.). With the lead in the back the Caps started better into the last period. They also had an early good chance, but Rafael Rotter missed the net after a solo-attack (44.). Then the hosts took some penalties, but Salzburg failed to take advantage of six minutes Power Play. The breakthrough came then in minute 56, when Manuel Latusa scored the equalizer. Just moments later John Hughes even turned the game around after a combination over Bobby Raymond and Alexander Rauchenwald. - So Salzburg won at Vienna 2:1. After the game Rotter and Generous had a fight. For Vienna it was the first home-defeat since January 20th or 17 games. Salzburg on the other side celebrated their fourth win in a row.
