Sonntag, 01.Oktober 2017 - 13:00 - In the 8th round of Erste Bank Eishockey League the battles for the midfield positions are in focus. The fifths and the twelves place are separated by two points only. Currently the HCB Südtirol Alperia got the “red lantern”, but with a win against Znojmo they can make a big jump in the standings.

•The Durnbirn Bulldogs and the Moser Medical Graz99ers are tied in the standings after seven games.
•In games with the 99ers the average total score was 8 goals – this is the highest average.
•With a total score of 15 goals in the last game, the 99ers set together with Bozen a new record.
•Dornbirn already lost four times with the result of 3:4.
•The two teams with the mosts goals against are facing each other

Brock Higgs, Forward 99ers: „Our comeback against Bozen shows our mental strength. But we are not allowed to come in this situation again, in our next game against the Bulldogs.”

Dave MacQueen, Headcoach Bulldogs: „Weh ad a good game against the Villach. Vilach is a very physical team, the 99ers are the more skilled team. We need to close the open space and to take out the 2 or three keyplayers of the 99ers.”

•Six of seven games of the Black Wings were decided by one goal difference.
•The Black Wings captured at least one point in six of seven games.
•Fehervar recently booked the first win against Salzburg in this year.
•Fehervr scored only 15 goals in seven games, this is the lowest number of goals compared to the other teams (KAC also 15).
Patrick Spannring, Black Wings: „We practiced defense the whole week. This is where we can do the biggest steps. We can already build on our defense of the KAC game – but we still have room for improvement. It’s still early in the season, we still have to adapt to the new systems.”

Benoit Laporte, Headcoach Fehervar: „Linz could win against Klagenfurt recently and they are a very good team. They are a team, who don’t get too many goals. We should play very disciplined defensively like today.”

•Recently the KAC ended the first game of this season without scoring a goal.
•The Redjackets struggled with their scoring efficiency so far. KAC tried the most shots (28 per game) on goal, but scored the least
•Innsbruck scored the most goals with even number of players, but the least in powerplay
•Innsbruck with the second game within 24 hours. On Saturday they are playing against Znojmo.

Steven Stron, Defender KAC: „The unnecessary defeat against Linz harmed us a bit. Now we need to find our rhythm again. Innsbruck is offensively very dangerous. We need to play a focused defense for the full 60 minutes.”

Jeremie Blain, Defender HCI: „We still have room for improvement. But it’s a good feeling to win games, without delivering our maximum. We need to improve from game to game to stay in the top places.”

“We made too many mistakes against Fehervar, but the Hungarians played really well. We need to stop the breakaways of our opponent and to avoid unnecessary mistakes. We need to play disciplined ad avoid penatties.”
Gestern in Ungarn haben wir zu viele Eigenfehler gemacht, wobei Fehérvár wirklich gut gespielt hat. Aber wir dürfen trotzdem nicht so viele Konter zulassen und müssen v.a. Strafen vermeiden. Das hat uns gestern im ersten und zweiten Abschnitt jeweils zu Beginn sehr gebremst. Auf jeden Fall wollen wir gegen Zagreb ein gutes Spiel machen und das am Dienstag zum CHL-Auswärtsspiel nach Wolfsburg mitnehmen.“
