Sonntag, 24.September 2017 - 7:47 - HC Orli Znojmo as well as HC TWK Innsbruck stay on the heels of leader Capitals. The Czech team booked a clear 5:1 success over Dornbirn after a strong second period. The HC TWK Innsbruck booked a 4:2 win against Fehervar – Andrew Clark striked twice. Innsbruck is still undefeated in their home rink.

Znojmo celebrates clear success against Dornbirn
The visitors took off to a great start in Znojmo, scoring after seven minutes of play when Matthew Fraser took advantage of an error in the build up play of the home team to score with a quick shot to the near post on a breakaway. Bulldogs played a good game in the opening period, but could not hold on to their lead as Jakub Stehlik equalized in the last minute before intermission, scoring with a wristshot from the slot. And Znojmo took control of the game in the second period, dominating the play on the ice and putting a lot of pressure on the opponent who was forced to keep players on the ice for long shifts. Eventually, the defense started to crack. First, Jiri Beroun deflected a shot from the blue line to make it 2-1, then David Bartos converted a quick passing play on a one-man advantage for a third home goal and eventually Radim Matus scored with a backhand deke to send Znojmo in a good position. Any hopes for a comeback from the visitors were smashed in the 48th minute when Marek Biro´s shot from the blue line found its way through traffic and into the net. Dornbirn had chacnes on powerplays, Connelly hit the post, but there was nothing Bulldogs could do to change the outcome of the game.

Innbruck still undefeated in home rink
Fehervar started very quick and with high pressure what resulted in the early in the early lead. After only two minutes Csanad Erdely scored for the 1:0. Innsbruck struggled a bit to find their rhythm. On the other side Fehervar played a tight game. The equalizer of Innsbruck came quite surprising, when Andrew Clark converted out of tumult. The goal pushed Innsbruck and some more chances were created. In the beginning of the second period the two teams neutralized each other. In the 33rd minute Dennis Teschauer captured the lead for Innsbruck with his second goal in Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. But Fehervar kept the pressure high and tested the reflexes of Patrik Nechvatal. In the final period, it was Andrew Clark who striked again. But Fehervar didn’t give up, fought for every centimeter and created some good chances. Erdeli narrowed the gap with his second goal of the night. Fehervar took full risk in the final minute and looked for the equalizer. But it was John Lammers who finally brought the decision for Innsbruck
