Sonntag, 01.Oktober 2017 - 12:57 - On Saturday Rittner Buam and EK Zeller Eisbären both suffered their first season defeats on the road. While Sterzing as well as the Slovenian teams Ljubljana and Jesenice extended their winning streaks, Neumarkt and EC-KAC II are still without points at the bottom of the table.

HDD SIJ Acroni Jesenice - EHC Alge Elastic Lustenau 2:1 (1:1, 0:0, 1:0)
The game between HDD Jesenice and away team EHC Lustenau began with a big pressure from the home team. Most of the playing time was in front of the Lustenau goal. Despite that, the away team scored first. After he was left alone, the goal was scored by Dmitry Malgin. The home team put even more pressure on the Lustenau goal, despite being one goal behind. The first goal from the steelers came after a great combination from Erik Svetina and Blaz Tomaževi?. The goal was scored by Miha Logar. In the begining of the last period, Markus Piispanen only hit the post. The winning goal came in the 56th minute after a shot from the side from Luka Kalan. In the last minute, the away team tried to play with 6 players after Jesenice got a penalty and Lustenau pulled their goalie out. But the score did not change.

EC 'Die Adler' Stadtwerke Kitzbühel - HC Gherdeina valgardena.it 3:2 (0:2, 1:0, 2:0)
After three successive defeats Gherdeina got off a perfect start with Jan McDonald opening the scoring after only 53 seconds. The visitors doubled the lead in an even-balanced first period by Simon Pitschieler after 13 minutes. The hosts could not beat guest's netminder MArtin Rabanser until minute 25 when Gatis Sprukts broke the spell on power play. Despite having some chances, the visitors failed to restore the two-goal lead. In the third Kitzbühel took over command and Adam Fekti tied the game at two. With McDonald receiving the first penalty of the third, Olegs Sislannikovs turned the game around in the final minutes. Just a few seconds later the goal scorer had to go to the penalty box but Kitzbühel killed the clock successfully.

EC KAC II - WSV Sterzing Broncos Weihenstephan 0:7 (0:3, 0:1, 0:3)
Both teams had chances in the opening minutes with Sterzing to score first thanks to a backhander by Ben Duffy. Late in the period Zdenek Bahensky added a brace for a 3:0 Broncos lead. Jakob Holzer replaced Florian Vorauer in the KAC net at the beginning of the second and now the hosts created some good opportunites. However, it was Sterzing again to score the only goal of the middle frame with Matthias Mantinger putting his side 4:0 up. Mantinger extended the lead with his second of the night in the third period with a two men advantage. Now the resistance of Klagenfurt was broken. Giffen Nyren and Markus Trenkwalder rounded off the scoring with two more goals fr a 7:0 road win.

FBI VEU Feldkirch - HC Neumarkt Riwega 1:0 (0:0, 1:0, 0:0)
Without Jakub Muzik, Michael Sullmann and American new arrival Joseph Harcharik, Neumarkt took on Feldkirch. After five successive defeats you could see their insecurity but the VEU could not use their dominance in the opening period. HCN goalie Daniel Morandell made saves again and again. Early in the second Stefan Wiedmaier broke the spell and it was the only goal in the game. Having the second weakest offense, Neumarkt did not score a single goal for the second consecutive game. The best player awards were given to goalies Alex Caffi and Morandell.

EC Bregenzerwald - Red Bull Hockey Juniors 4:8 (0:4, 1:2, 3:2)
In the first perid Bregenzerwald had no answers to Salzburg's fast-paced game. Klöckl made the breakthrough after only 22 seconds and eleven minutes later the visitors had a 3:0 lead with two more goals by Strodel and Wappis. Shortly before the end of the period Witting added a fourth and in the second period Finnish ECB goalie Pietilä was replaced by Karlo Skec. Now Jussi Tupamäki's team did much better and Marcel Wolf got them on the scoreboard with a power play marker. Hope did not arise because Maximilian Egger restored the five-goal lead and Feldner added one more i nthe 36th minute. Bregenzerwald bounced back in the third with two goals by Maximilian Hohenegg (pp) and Philipp Pöschmann. After Salzburg's Postel and Bregenzerwald's Schwinger lit the lamp, Wachter finished the scoring for a 8:4 away win.

HC Fassa Falcons - EK Zeller Eisbären 4:3 (2:1, 0:1, 2:1)
Zell am See lost the first match of the season after playing in Fassa. In this match the hosts played with great energy and with very well orchestrated actions since the first minute. The Austrian team played, on the other hand, at alternating stages and not with due concentration. The Falcons took advantage after the middle of the first period with two identical goal of Jari Monferon as he made two shoots under the crossbar. The Eisbaren halved the disadvantage before the end of the period with a touch of Frederik Widen after a caotic action under the net. During the second period the game was very open. The Fassa missed its opportunities. The guests, on the other hand, managed to tie with Gerd Kragl. The third period was very interesting. Paolo Bustreo brought Falcons into advantage after a lone action in shorthaned. Again, Gerd Kragl made another goal for the tie (3:3). But this was the evening of Jari Monferone who decided the game. The forward achieved his hat-trick as he fix the score on 4: 3 for the Italian team that conquered the third consecutive home victory. It should be noted that in the net of Zell am See played Dominik Frank.

S.G. Cortina Hafro - HK SZ Olimpija 0:3 (0:1, 0:1, 0:1)
The Ljubljana overcame a very nervous opponent who has lost the first game at home with a 0:3 wich never in discussion. The Slovene team made the lead with Maks Selan’s powerplay goal (2.). Ljubljana's goal remained the only one in the first period. Aljaz Uduc missed a penalty shot for the visitors (13.). Cortina was not in a big evening while Ljubljana was perfect in stopping the opponent attack. After 31 seconds of play in the middle period there was the 2th goal of Ljubljana: a heavy mistake by Cortina's defense encouraged Andrej Hebar's goal. The game became very physical and hard. Ljubljana always controlled the game against a Cortina that was very disorganized. In the third time Cortina tried to reopen the game but without success. The penalties were still decisive: in the end of the match there will be 38 minutes of penalties for the home team including a game misconduct for Riley Brace. Marks Selan (again) fixed the result in powerplay (3:0) with Ljubljana coming out from the Olimpico Stadium with the fourth consecutive victory.

Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey - Rittner Buam 4:3 (0:0, 3:0, 1:3)
Renon was defeated for the first time in the season: in the re-edition of the final of the AHL, Asiago Hockey won at home for 4:3. The first period was very nice with the teams playing at the same level and intensity. The Formations created many opportunities but goalkeepers was very careful. The first half ended without goal. During the second period there was a lot of nervousness. Both team played in a double powerplay but they didn’t score. Asiago grew in intensity, minutes after minutes, and in seven minutes, in half match, they made three goals with Davide Dal Sasso (powerplay), Antony Bardaro and Marco Rosa. In the third time, Renon found the first goal of the evening with Alex Frei. The match was always fought and after 53 minutes Anthony Nigro made the 4th score at the end of an insisting action. Ritten tried to get the reaction as they scored two goals that reopen the match thanks to the goal of Andreas Lutz and Daniel Tudin (double powerplay). But in the final, Asiago closed the net as they won this important game for the third consecutive victory in a row for yellowread team.
